Julian Aguon

Julian Aguon is an international human rights lawyer from Guam whose work sits at the intersection of climate justice, decolonization, and Indigenous rights. As the founder of Blue Ocean Law, he has shaped international legal precedent, including advisory opinion proceedings before the International Court of Justice on climate change. A Pulitzer Prize finalist and Right Livelihood Award laureate, Julian is also an educator, essayist, and mentor dedicated to training the next generation of advocates from the Pacific and beyond. He is the author of No Country for Eight-Spot Butterflies (2022).
