Azzurra Cox

Azzurra Cox is an assistant professor of landscape architecture at the Weitzman School of Design at University of Pennsylvania.

She is a landscape architect and writer interested in the power of landscapes to shape and reflect collective narratives. As an associate designer at Seattle-based GGN, she worked on urban-scale projects across the country. Azzurra brings a range of experiences in the worlds of publishing, curation, and design activism to her practice and research, which center the myths and memories that live and are expressed in the land. She was named the 2016 National Olmsted Scholar by the Landscape Architecture Foundation for her research on African-American cultural landscapes in St. Louis, and she has taught in the landscape architecture program at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
