Places Welcomes Three New Academic Partners

We’re thrilled to welcome three new schools to our international network of academic partners: The Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture at the City College of New York, the Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture and Design at University of Houston, and the Department of Architecture at Howard University.
These schools share Places’ commitment to engaged public scholarship on the built environment. Their membership in the Places network is being funded by a grant from the Mellon Foundation, which is supporting the membership of four Historically Black Colleges and Universities, four Hispanic-Serving Institutions, and one Tribal College.
All three schools are now represented on Places’ Partner Council, which helps guide our mission of building an inclusive public readership for serious writing and scholarship on architecture, landscape, and urbanism. New council members include Bradford Grant, of Howard University; Marta Gutman, of City College of New York; and Patricia Oliver, of University of Houston.
