Merrill Feitell

Merrill Feitell is the author of Here Beneath Low-Flying Planes, which won the Iowa Award for Short Fiction. Her stories have appeared in such publications as Best New American Voices, Virginia Quarterly Review, and American Short Fiction; her text-image pieces have been published in McSweeney’s Quarterly, Electric Literature, and Los Angeles Review of Books. A native New Yorker, she now lives in Los Angeles, where she teaches in the Writers’ Program at UCLA Extension and is at work on Shelter, a mixed-media project about a years-long search for housing — a search she must resume yet again in the wake of the Eaton Fire.
