Allan W. Shearer
Allan W. Shearer is the Associate Dean of Research & Technology at The University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture. His research centers on how individuals, communities, and societies create scenarios of the future and how these descriptions of possible conditions are used to inform present-day decisions. A particular focus of research has been critical uncertainties that may lead to national, environmental, or human security problems. His writings have appeared in various journals and he is a co-author of the books Land Use Scenarios: The Environmental Consequences of Development and Gaia’s Revenge: Climate Change and Humanity’s Loss.
