Barry Lopez
Barry Lopez is the author of six collections of short stories, two collections of essays and five other books, including Arctic Dreams, for which he received the National Book Award, and Of Wolves and Men, a finalist for the National Book Award. His writing has appeared in dozens of periodicals, including Harper’s, The New York Times Magazine, The Paris Review, The Georgia Review, National Geographic, Orion and Granta. His writing and research have taken him to more than 60 countries, and he collaborates regularly on a variety of projects with a diverse group of artists. He was recently named Honorary Geographer of the Year by the Association of American Geographers. He lives in western Oregon.
