Daniel Wolff is the author of How To Become an American: A History of Immigration, Assimilation, and Loneliness; Grown-up Anger: The Connected Mysteries of Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, and the Calumet Massacre of 1913; The Fight for Home: How (Parts of) New Orleans Came Back; How Lincoln Learned to Read: Twelve Great Americans and the Educations that Made Them; 4th of July/Asbury Park: A History of the Promised Land; and You Send Me: The Life and Times of Sam Cooke. His articles have appeared in a range of publications, from the New York Times to Wooden Boat. He’s been nominated for a Grammy and published four collections of poetry, the latest – More Poems about Money – a 2023 New York City Best Books Distinguished Favorite.
