David Bacher
David Bacher is an American/Austrian photographer living near Paris, France. He was born in Virginia, and earned a B.A. in anthropology and economics at the University of Virginia. Later, he moved to Vienna, where he trained as a competitive professional rower. In 2003, he completed an international exchange program in photojournalism at the Danish School of Journalism in Aarhus, Denmark, where he produced one of his first documentary photo projects, focusing on a fisherman living on Denmark’s northwest coast. He moved to Paris in 2004 and has been working since as a freelance photographer. His work has been published internationally and has won awards from National Geographic France and the Px3 (Prix de la Photographie, Paris). His photos have been exhibited in galleries and photo festivals, including the MOPLA (Month of Photography L.A.)
