Elizabeth Farnsworth
Elizabeth Farnsworth is a Special Correspondent for The PBS Newshour.
She was for many years a foreign correspondent for The MacNeil-Lehrer NewsHour and then chief correspondent and principal substitute anchor of The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer. She is co-director/producer of several films, including The Judge and the General, a feature-length documentary about the legal pursuit of former Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet. Honors for the film include an Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia University Award, an Emmy nomination and a Director’s Guild of America nomination for best documentary direction.
Her writings have appeared in various publications, including Foreign Policy, World Policy Journal, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Nation and Mother Jones.
