Josh Sides

Josh Sides is the Whitsett Professor of California History at the California State University at Northridge and the director of the Center for Southern California Studies

Sides is author of many articles and of the books L.A. City Limits: African American Los Angeles from the Great Depression to the Present and Erotic City: Sexual Revolutions and the Making of Modern San Francisco, which won the Bullough Prize for Best Book of 2009 from the Foundation for the Scientific Study of Sexuality and the Lewis Mumford Prize from the Society for American City and Regional Planning History. Sides is the editor of a forthcoming anthology, Post-Ghetto: Reimagining South Los Angeles.
