Joyce Hwang
Joyce Hwang is a professor of architecture at the University at Buffalo SUNY. She is director of Ants of the Prairie, a partner at Double Happiness, and a core organizer for Dark Matter University.
For nearly two decades, she has been developing projects that incorporate wildlife habitats into constructed environments. She is a recipient of the WOJR/Civitella Ranieri Architecture Prize, the Exhibit Columbus University Research Design Fellowship, the Architectural League Emerging Voices Award, and a MacDowell Fellowship; her work has featured by a range of institutions and platforms, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Matadero Madrid, and the Venice Architecture Biennale.
