Kavita Ramakrishnan

Kavita Ramakrishnan is an associate professor of geography and global development at the University of East Anglia. Her work focuses on housing justice, informal livelihoods, and everyday life in precarious urban environments. She is a recipient of the British Academy Wolfson Fellowship, and is currently writing on embodied experiences of extreme heat in India and global forms of thermal governance.

Raised in Chicago, she holds a PhD and MPhil from the University of Cambridge, a Master of Public Health degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Southern California.
