Kees Christiaanse
Kees Christiaanse is founding partner of KCAP Architects & Planners, in Rotterdam; chair of architecture and urbanism in the Institute for Urban Design at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, in Zurich; and a visiting professor at the Cities Programme of the London School of Economics. He is the chief curator of the 2009 International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam.
Christiaanse was born in Amsterdam in 1953 and studied architecture at the Delft University of Technology. His thesis, “Kavel 25,” was awarded the Berlage Flag. Between 1980 and 1989, Christiaanse worked for the Office for Metropolitan Architecture in Rotterdam, becoming a partner in 1983.
