Laura McPhee is a photographer based in Brookline, Massachusetts, and a professor at the Massachusetts College of Art.
McPhee’s photographs concern place and the way we see ourselves in regard to the land, whether in India, France, or the American west. Her work has been widely exhibited both in the United States and abroad, and she has been awarded many grants and residencies. Her series River of No Return was exhibited at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; a monograph of the same title was published by Yale. Her books include No Ordinary Land (in collaboration with Virginia Beahan) and, most recently, The Home and the World: A View of Calcutta.
