Renata Stih
Renata Stih is a Berlin-based conceptual artist, who explores how memory functions in the social sphere and how it is reflected symbolically in the space of the city. She is a Professor at the University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, teaching art and technology, pop culture, theatre, film and media, and also works as a film and art critic. Together with Frieder Schnock, she questions taken-for-granted traditions regarding cultural identity, cultural transmission and cultural memory by drawing new links between aesthetics, culture and politics. Renata Stih is a Rockefeller fellow and has lectured widely in the United States (including at George Washington University, Columbia, Princeton, Harvard, Oberlin, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the University of Chicago, Emory, and Brown).
