Richard Wittman
Richard Wittman teaches in the Department of the History of Art and Architecture at the University of California at Santa Barbara. A cultural historian of 18th- and 19th-century European architecture and planning, he is the author of Architecture, Print Culture, and the Public Sphere in 18th-Century France, and is currently completing a book on the 19th-century reconstruction of the early Christian basilica of San Paolo fuori le mura in Rome. He lectures regularly at institutions around Europe and North America, and is a fellow of the American Academy in Rome and Villa I Tatti.
