Robert E. Lang
Robert E. Lang is a professor of sociology and the director of Brookings Mountain West at the University of Nevada–Las Vegas.
Lang is currently a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution and a fellow of the Urban Land Institute. In 2008 he was a Fulbright fellow at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris; he has been a planning and fellow of the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy and a distinguished visiting fellow of the University of California–Riverside. In addition he has been director of urban and metropolitan research at Fannie Mae in Washington, D.C. He has written numerous articles and books on a range of topics and has developed new urban planning concepts such as “boomburbs,” “edgeless dities,” and “megapolitan areas.”
