Sonja Dümpelmann

Sonja Dümpelmann is a landscape historian and associate professor at the Stuart Weitzman School of Design at University of Pennsylvania. She is the author and editor of several books, most recently the prize-winning Seeing Trees: A History of Street Trees in New York City and Berlin (Yale University Press, 2019). She lectures internationally and has served as president of the Landscape History Chapter of the Society of Architectural Historians and as senior fellow in Garden and Landscape Studies at the Dumbarton Oaks Research Library and Collection in Washington. She is a 2020-21 fellow at the Berlin Institute for Advanced Study.
