Places Awarded Graham Grant for Critics-in-Residence Project
We are pleased to report that Places has been awarded a grant from the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts to support “Critics-in-Residence in Architecture and Landscape Architecture,” a new editorial program that will build capacity in the ranks of design writers and heighten the cultural visibility and impact of the design disciplines.
Critics-in-Residence is envisioned as an ongoing program and will appoint two critics, one in architecture and one in landscape architecture, for an annual term. In a time of contraction and uncertainty, it will provide a dynamic new platform for serious criticism of buildings and landscapes.
This year, the Foundation awarded $480,000 across 36 international organizations to support projects that respond to today’s challenges, foster new connections across disciplines, and expand the field of architecture.
