Places Awarded Grant to Explore Latino Urbanism

We are pleased to announce that Places has been awarded a grant from the Vilcek Foundation to support a major new article on the immigrant experience and achievement in America, focusing on Latino Urbanism in Los Angeles.

The article will explore how Latino Urbanism — first articulated by the Mexican American planner James Rojas to refer to the myriad ways in which Latino architects and urban designers are reshaping city neighborhoods — is influencing public space and community life in the second largest city in the U.S.
