Places + The Bartlett Co-Host Seminar by Shannon Mattern

On Wednesday 27 January, we were pleased to team up with our partners at The Bartlett to co-sponsor a seminar featuring PlacesĀ columnist Shannon Mattern at the Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis (CASA), an interdisciplinary research institute focusing on the science of cities.

In “How to Map Nothing: Geographies of Suspension,” Mattern explored the phenomenon of retreat during the COVID-19 pandemic, drawing on feminist geography, critical race studies, and critical disability studies to consider how we might map the flip side of a COVID-19 dashboard.

A recording of the seminar is available to watch now.
