This summer, we’re thrilled to welcome three new members to Places’ international network of academic partners: The Department of Architecture at the National University of Singapore; the School of Architecture and Department of Landscape Architecture at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign; and the College of Design at Iowa State University.

These schools share the journal’s steadfast commitment to public scholarship on the built environment, and they join a growing — and increasingly diverse — array of schools in their support of independent nonprofit design journalism.

All three schools are represented on the Places Partner Council, which helps to guide the journal and build an inclusive readership for serious writing on architecture, landscape, and urbanism. New council members include Jeffrey Hou, of NUS; Kathryn Holliday, of UIUC; and Mark Raymond, of Iowa State.
