The Inequality Chronicles

Inequality is hardly a new phenomenon in American life, but lately it is commanding new attention. President Obama has declared it “the defining challenge of our time.” And beyond the familiar headlines there is the deeper story, the palpable unease that the social contracts that have long supported our pluralistic and prosperous democracy are fracturing apart.

“The Inequality Chronicles” features detailed explorations of racial, economic, and social inequities — from historical roots to contemporary effects — in major U.S. cities.

The series is made possible by a grant from the The Kresge Foundation.
