Jacob Kushner

Jacob Kushner is an international journalist, author, and educator who reports from Africa, Germany, and the Caribbean. His writing has appeared in The New Yorker, Harper’s, The Atlantic, The New York Times, The New York Times Magazine, The Economist, National Geographic, The Nation, WIRED, and Foreign Policy.

He is the author of China’s Congo Plan (2013) and Look Away: A True Story of Murders, Bombings, and a Far-Right Campaign to Rid Germany of Immigrants (2024). He teaches journalism at Columbia University in New York.
