Elin Anna Labba

Elin Anna Labba is a Sámi journalist and author. Her book Herrarna satte oss hit: Om tvångsförflyttningarna i Sverige (Norstedts Förlag, 2020) received Sweden’s August Prize for Best Nonfiction, as well as the Norrland Literature Prize and Hedevind Plaquette. Fiona Graham’s translation, The Rocks Will Echo Our Sorrow: The Forced Displacement of the Northern Sámi was published by University of Minnesota Press in 2024. Labba was previously a journalist for the Sámi news magazine Samefolket, and editor-in-chief of Nuorat; she currently works at the Sámi Authors’ Centre. Her debut novel, The Home of the Drowned, is forthcoming in translation from University of Minnesota Press.
