Lauren Dapena Fraiz is a research practitioner and project designer based in Brooklyn, New York; she is originally from Galicia, Spain.
Dapena Fraiz is the director of Research and Programs at The Maintainers, an interdisciplinary research and practice network that focuses on maintenance, repair, and care. Her background includes nonprofit development, feminist education, and public health research. Areas of interest include repair communities, democratizing knowledge, care infrastructures, public space advocacy, climate action, and just transitions. Dapena Fraiz holds a Master’s degree in psychology from the Complutense University of Madrid and has conducted research at Columbia University, CUNY School of Public Health, and The New School.
