Virginia Hanusik is a New Orleans-based artist whose work explores the relationship between landscape and identity. She became interested in the influence of waterways on the physical and social shaping of communities while growing up in New York’s Hudson River Valley. Her current projects focus on Southeast Louisiana and have been published in Next City, Oxford American, The Atlantic, Fast Company, and NPR.
Virginia holds a B.A. from Bard College and has been supported by the Graham Foundation and the Mellon Foundation for her work around architecture and photography in Louisiana.
